All Day Patriot Day: September 11th
Patriot Day: September 11th
06:30 AM - 15:30 PM 9/11 Home Again Parade

ALL HANDS ON DECK!

The 9/11 HOME AGAIN PARADE (Tigard, Oregon) is a very unique opportunity and honor for us to welcome home some of America's newest heroes and to recall, reflect and respect the sacrifices of so many civil servants and their families on 9/11. We have the honor of carrying the parade banner and being the forward most color guard. We will also have a trailer with our Iwo Jima reenactors on it and the unit at "full strength" in formation close by (also in the parade).

Lunch will be provided by the organizers of the parade and everyone is asked to participate. Email absent{at}lcym.org if you cannot attend, but the goal is 100% participation.

Plan on arriving to the Elks Lodge at 0630 to begin the sign in process. You may pick your Young Marines up at the Elks at 1530. Final formation will go at 1500 with any awards needing distribution.

Uniform of the day for the unit is cammie alphas.

Uniform of the day for the color guard is Service Charlies. (You will be selected and notified of your color guard assignment.)
15:30 PM Platoon Competition - FOOD DRIVE - Now Thru 12/18/10

Operations Officer Mr. Czmowski is organizing a food drive beginning Sat 9/11/10 through Sat 12/18/10. We will be collecting non-perishable food items on behalf of the Elks Lodge, who will then in turn create the food baskets and hand them out to families in need for the holidays.

Each platoon will be competing against each other to see who can bring in the most food. The platoon who has the heaviest collection box (weight) is the one that wins the streamer for their guidon.

Mr. Czmowski will be at the Sign In/Out table each drill collecting food items from the YMs and making sure they get in the correct platoon boxes! Please bring your donations in bags clearly marked with the platoon name!!

THE LAST DAY TO BRING IN FOOD ITEMS IS 12/11/10 AT DRILL.

Assistance will be needed the morning of Saturday 12/18/10 from 0830-1030 - we'll need to help the Elks get the food boxes from their staging area to the hallways for distribution. [Community service hours!!]
